Following the work
Rania opens the board for her penthouse. This is her daily view of the studio’s work — no call to the office, no waiting for an update.
Each card is one real piece of her fit-out moving through a stage. Reading them tells her where her home actually is this week.
She opens the design package to read the detail the studio has left for her.
What a client cannot do
Now the part worth understanding. She cannot type anything here. A client’s account is read-only by design: she sees the job, she does not edit it.
That is not the studio being unhelpful. It keeps one version of the record, written by the people accountable for it.
So how does she ask?
So when she wants something changed, she tells the studio — and the studio writes it onto the task, where it becomes part of the job rather than part of a conversation.
Once it is there it carries a name and a date. Six months on, when the dining light comes up again, the answer is on the task and not in somebody’s memory.
The habit
One habit worth keeping. Ask in writing, and ask for it to be put on the task — because a fit-out runs for months and nobody’s memory does.
