The register, and why it matters
This is the drawing register, and it is the single most expensive screen to get wrong. Salma, the designer, keeps every sheet for the Korba café here — and the site team builds from whatever this list says is current.
Finding the sheet
Each sheet has a number. Architectural, interior, electrical — the number tells you which discipline and which sheet, so nobody hangs a lighting layout off an old wall plan.
The revision and its status
Open a sheet and the thing to read first is the revision and its status. A drawing is never just ‘the drawing’ — it is revision three, issued for construction, as of last Tuesday.
This is the part that costs money: building to a superseded revision is what makes you rip out a wall. The status field exists so that does not happen, and it only works if you check it before the chisel comes out.
Superseding is an event
When Salma supersedes a sheet, that is an event — the old revision is marked withdrawn, the new one becomes current, and the site builds to the new set from that moment.
And because the drawings live beside the tasks, the site team is never working from a PDF someone emailed three weeks ago. The register is the source of truth.
The habit that matters
One habit worth building: before you start any new item of work, confirm the sheet you are building to is the current revision. Ten seconds here is cheaper than a day of demolition.
