What a purchase order is for
A purchase order is the document a supplier builds from. Hoda writes it, and the clarity of what she puts on it decides what arrives on the lorry.
Each order carries its number, the value in pounds, and a status. A draft is private to the studio; it only commits the studio to paying once it is issued.
Open an order and you see its lines. This is where clarity lives — a line that says only ‘tiles’ is a line that arrives as the wrong shade, the wrong size, or the wrong box count.
Each line states the material, the quantity, and the unit. Porcelain floor tile by the square metre is not the same thing as by the piece, and the rate follows the unit.
A clear order also names the delivery date and the delivery address. The site address and the workshop address are different places, and a delivery sent to the wrong one costs a day the programme does not have.
